Magazines


 


What is the definition of Magazine? A periodical publication containing articles and illustrations, typically covering a particular subject

What types/genres of magazines can you think of?
-Rock
-Pop
-Indie
-Nature
-Pregnancy
-Children’s
-Music
-Movie
-Housewife
-Bride
-Fashion
-School
-Technology
-Beauty

There are hundreds of different types of magazines but what are the common elements of all or most of them: -Headmast
-Central image
-ISBN Code
-Puff
-Information Bar
-Secondary headline
-Caption
-Header
-Features

Why do you think we have magazines? I think we have magazines because it entertains the buyers, and makes them aware of curtain events. Different magazines show different prospective of the same subject. For example in music magazines, if a celebrity is seen with a girl, One magazine might represent this as them having a girlfriend, and one might say that it was someone that they were hanging out with.

Do magazines appear and emerge because of audience needs or the needs of media institutions?
In my opinion magazines appear and emerge due to audience needs.

Can you think of one way you think Magazines will change in the next 50 years?
I believe that technology and the internet will take over. The one way I think that magazines will change in the next 50 years is that it would become electronic or you’ll download it to your iphone/Ipad to read it.
