Changes I Made Through Out The Making Of My Magazine Cover

    At first i didn't really have a background on my magazine cover, but later i could tell that it wouldn't look professional so i had to find a new background for the picture. Also i didn't really like the logo either. i believe that it didn't look like the type of logo a rock magazine would use.

I then found a font that would make my masthead stand out more and that was suitable for the genre of music magazine I was making.

I still wasn't happy about the background of the
magazine cover so i decided to change it to make
it look more professional

I then done more research and found out that most rock magazines had their website and issue date plus price just above the ISBN code. I added it which created my final magazine cover

Making my DPS

 I wanted to experiment with the layout of the text so at first i put the text in two columns then found out i wouldn't have enough space for all the text i wanted to put on, I then had to get the correct measurements for the text to be equal and not bigger on one side than the other

 I then thought that the article looked a bit dull and that i wanted to make it look more creative, the box that the text was in wasn't really appealing, so after looking at other rock magazines for inspiration i found out that a lot of them had a ripped effect on them. so i found out how to make a ripped effect on Photoshop and applied it to my final DPS .

I tried to take a variety of different shots with different poses. I tried to include the 9 tips for a good photo which were:

>Get down to their level 

>Use a plain background

>Use flash outdoors

>Move in close

Rock Magazine Front Covers

These rock magazine covers will give me an idea on how to design my magazine. In all of them there's a slight pattern. Their house style consists of the colours White.yellow,red and Black which will be ideal when designing and making my magazine cover. It also helps me with how people pose, Males seem to be posing like a dominate, serious gender as females have coloured hair and wear excessive makeup and baggy clothing. This would help me with the costume of my model.

Experimenting with Layout and Logo's

I'm starting to experiment with my magazine cover for example;
-Which logo should i chose
-Where is the Central image is going to be
-The layout of the magazine etc.
This would give me an idea on where to put things which will help me create the final music magazine cover

I've been starting to create my own logo for my Rock music magazine, I've chosen the name "Slash" as it has a dark meaning to it as Rock music does. I've developed most of the ideas i've had in the process of creating   a logo for the magazine
